This painting was a little harder than I thought it would be–as usual! The sunset was so beautiful and I really had a difficult time capturing it. Wouldn’t it be great to see this scene every evening? If that was the case, would one take it for granted?????
Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We had our usual family gathering with lots of good food and of course lots of love, we have so much to be thankful for.
A very lovely sunset. I do think we would take it for granted if it was there permanently.
I read once about a scrapbooker who photographed nearly every sunset.
I dont know if she could ever scrapbook that many photos but she made a point to scrapbook the sunset on each of her childrens birthdays.

Hi Rhonda, Another beautiful painting. I wouldnt mind sitting with a lovely fruity cocktail watching that view. The painting makes me feel I could actually be there, its wonderful. Regarding roasting brussel sprouts I mentioned on my blog, I saw The Barefoot Contessa (Ina Garten) do it on one of her cookery programmes and I havnt cooked them any other way since. Roasting retains their colour and slight al dente texture, so unlike the hideous ‘boiled to within an inch of their life’ sprouts that my mother cooked. Eww! X

Yes those brussel sprouts looked lovely, but I’m a country girl and I’ve never seen them like that–amazing. I’m going to have to start going to the farmers market.
I love your sunset. I am currently trying to paint a sunset landscape as well and it is much harder than I thought also. I never thought I would use cadmium colors practically straight out of the tube! Yours has turned out nicely!

Thank you so much, I kept going back and making it brighter and brighter. I really had trouble getting that yellow glow and yes I just about used pure tube colors which is unusual for me.
