Summer Afternoon at the Beach

I no longer relax on the beach because I’m always looking for potential paintings. What attracted me to this scene was the little boy with his snorkling gear on. He wore it all day long but I don’t think he actually saw any underwater creatures–he was definately ready though. I can see myself sitting in that chair right now talking to my friend Sandy. . .

Yes I can see myself sitting in that chair as well, watching the kids play. I like how you watch something and then paint it, it makes it so alive.

Another wonderful painting. Love the colors.

    Hi Suzanne & Paz,
Thanks for your comments, I'm getting ready to start painting for a couple of shows this fall. Probably will paint still lifes for awhile. I set those up in my studio and paint from life. I usually try to eat my props, especially if they're things from the bakery!

    Hey Rhonda!

I’m so attracted to this painting. Reminds me of when we used to go to Amelia Island every summer with the boys. And yes, they did the same thing with the snorkeling gear! lol

    Beautiful painting!

    Sandra,
I love watching the activity on the beach and the sounds of children playing. Where is Amelia Island? I don’t think I’ve been there but sure sounds appealing!
